UPON ARRIVAL

After turning onto Blackground Road, you must check-in with our Gatehouse (located on the left about 0.3 miles from turning off of River Road).

All truck and work vehicles must take the truck entrance slightly past the Gatehouse and ring the bell.

All vendors must have an appointment. 

The Golf Club at Briar's Creek has a strict non-solicitation policy that pertains to everyone on property.

The speed limit is 25 mph throughout the property

 

CLUB ETIQUETTE

WHILE AT THE CLUB

The staff and owners of The Golf Club at Briar's Creek expect members and their guests to respect and follow the guidelines and ethics of golf always. 

During tournament events, the Golf Course and/or the Clubhouse may be closed for your use. This includes food and beverage. 

The speed limit is 25 mph throughout the property. 

Music is prohibited on the Course, Range, and at the Cottages on property. 

Boisterous behavior and profanity are prohibited.  

Check in at the Golf Shop when you arrive on property. 

Change your shoes in the locker room (located at the Clubhouse). 

You must check back in with the Golf Shop if you stop at the turn to go to the Clubhouse before you play your next 9 holes..  

All Members including cottage guests must check back into the Golf Shop to replay extra holes after their first 18 is completed.

 

WHILE ON THE COURSE 

Music and speakers are prohibited on the Course. Earbuds are permitted to those wanting to listen individually.

The Pace of Play is 4 hours and 10 minutes. 

Fill in divots and repair all ball marks and any others you may see. Sand stations are available every three holes to refill bottles. 

Retrieve your tees on the tee boxes. 

Rake bunkers after each use. 

Tap your shoes to remove sand when exiting a green-side bunker. 

If you are scoring the putt, it must be holed. 

After each round, post your scores to GHIN.

 

GOLF CARTS 

Golf carts are assigned & registered in the Golf Shop.  

Restrictions are activated on the golf carts.  

Remain 30 yards away from all greens.  

Remain on the cart path on the Par 3s. 

Always use cart paths where provided, 90 degree cart rule is in effect. 

Avoid soft areas on fairways (especially after rains). 

Use roughs whenever possible. 

Never drive through a hazard. 

Park Handicap carts (VIP) in front of the greens and not on side slopes of greens or uneven terrain. Handicap flags available upon request.

 

DRESS CODE 
Casual Dress: 

Denim of any kind is not permitted on the Course or the Clubhouse. Denim is only acceptable on casual Monday dinner nights in the Clubhouse. 

Workout wear is permitted in the gym (located at the Lodge).  

Swimwear is never permitted. 

Hats:

Hats must be worn forward. 

Gentlemen are not permitted to wear hats in the Clubhouse.  

Ladies must remove hats after 5pm in the Clubhouse.  

Shirts: 

Gentlemen must wear collared shirts which are to be tucked in always at the Club, as per proper golf attire. 

Shirts must be worn at all times. 

No t-shirts or tank tops of any kind.

Ladies are not permitted to wear low-cut tops or spaghetti straps.  

Any sleeveless top a Lady wears must have a collar.  

Bottoms: 

No cargo shorts, cargo pants, or short shorts. 

If wearing leggings, Ladies must cover them with a golf skirt. 

Shoes:

Shoes must be worn at all times. 

Metal spikes are not allowed in the Cottage or on the Course. 

 

TECHNOLOGY

While on the property, cell phones must be on silent or vibrate. 

While on the Course, minimal cell phone use is allowed. If used, keep voice level to a minimum. 

At the Clubhouse, phone calls are restricted to the phone booth located on the 1st floor or the outside porches with a considerate voice level to your surroundings.  

Laptops and tablets are permitted, but not during dinner. Headphones/earbuds must be worn when applicable. 

 

INCLEMENT WEATHER

Adhere to the signals of our state-of-the-art lightning detection system during inclement weather: When you hear one (1) long horn blast, seek shelter immediately at the Clubhouse- as play has been suspended. If unable to reach the Clubhouse during extreme weather, please take Shelter at the Restrooms on holes 4 and 12.  When you hear three (3) short horn blasts, it is considered "all clear", but the Golf Shop will make the final determination when it is safe to play.

 

PRIVATE PARTY ACCESS

Private events for guests must be sponsored by an active Member in good standing with The Golf Club at Briar's Creek.

Any decorations inside must be kept minimal and appropriate. Any outside decorations must be kept minimal and environmentally friendly, and contained only in the area of  which the party has access to. All decorations must be cleaned up immediately after the event. 

Guests do not have access to the course, golf carts, nor related amenities unless playing golf with an accompanied Member.

The Golf Club at Briar's Creek does not permit excessive drinking, boisterous behavior, or profanity.

Unless permitted by the sponsoring Member or staff, guests do not have upstairs access to the Clubhouse.

If staying overnight, all other meals and amenities must be reserved ahead of time through the sponsoring Member & our Concierge.

The sponsoring Member is responsible for any damages to Club property caused by their guests or vendors.

Photography, videography, and social media sharing of the event must be done respectfully and in accordance with Club policies. Any professional photography or videography requires prior approval.

Any music or entertainment must be pre-approved by Club management and must not disrupt other Members' experiences.

All private events must be approved by Club management, and event details must be coordinated in advance to ensure alignment with Club policies.

Guests must adhere to the Club's dress code. Attire should be appropriate for the event and reflect the Club's standards.
